Max Leads the Pack at the BKC Iame Cadet Championship Rd 3
Max was on fire again last weekend at the Fulbeck Circuit in Lincolnshire. With some of his best performances of the year, he was a class above during Friday’s test sessions, topping the times in all 6 sessions.

His form continued in to Saturday again being the fastest in the morning warmup by over 2 tenths of a second.
Qualifying – P1 🥇
A great session saw Max battle it out with the other drivers for pole. It was the closest anyone had been to him in terms of pace all weekend, securing pole position by less than 4 hundredths of a second from Oscar
Heat 1 – P1 🥇
A great race for Max, keeping the chasing pack behind him with a nice gap to second.
Heat 2 – P1 🥇
Max and his teammate Kacper worked brilliantly together to pull away from the rest of the drivers. They were a class above pulling a 4 second gap by the time the flag came out and some 4 tenths a lap faster than anyone.
Heat 3 – P1 🥇
A gamble by dad on a setup change made things hard work, but Max manage to hang on to the lead and crossed the line length than 1 tenth of a second ahead of Oscar.

Heat 4 – 2nd 🥈
Sunday didn’t go as well as Saturday. Max was still on great form but the mixed weather made it hard when choosing the right setup and unfortunately dad got it wrong for the wet conditions and he just couldn’t keep up with Oscar.
Prefinal – 2nd🥈
This was a much closer than the normal big heat, but lost out on 1st by the smallest of margins, having swapped positions all the way through.
Final – 4th
After a great set of results, it all went a bit wrong in the final. The rain had gone and the track was drying quickly, but with more rain to come it was going to be a gamble on the setup again. Again dad got it a bit wrong and after taking the lead at the first start, the race was red flagged.
The restart didn’t go great with the engine struggling to clear the fuel from the slow formation laps and Max lost a couple of places. As the race went on Max was struggling for grip and lost 3rd to Kacper, crossing the line in 4th. Austin Gibson drove a brilliant race and deserved the win.
So a bitter sweet weekend. The consistency over the weekend bagged Max lots of points and has meant that for the third time this year, he has left the circuit as the championship leader.
The team worked so well this weekend and they are really helping Max get the best out of himself. Without Billy, Chris and Scott, these results just wouldn’t be possible. Thanks for Jordan at Force for the engines, which were super strong.
As always a big thank you to his partners for their support Lavender Hall Auto’s JLF Designs – Helmet Paintwork Arai Helmets UK Motul #karting #winner #BKC
